What is this OpenID thing?Post to delicious
OpenID is an open protocol for implementing Single Sign-On for the web. Once you establish an account at an OpenID provider, you can then use those credentials to sign-in to any OpenID-enabled website.
Getting an OpenID account is easy, and free:
- MyOpenID and ClaimID are two popular identity providers.
- If you're an AOL member (even just AIM), you can use http://openid.aol.com/screenname.
- Popular services like Wordpress and LiveJournal also serve as OpenID providers.
- There are other providers too...
Warehouse was built from day one to support OpenID. You can actually log into any repository with it. Repository admins can then choose to grant access to private repositories if they wish.
